Bill Miller – Managing Director
Bill Miller is a life-long athlete and lover of sports. A former Division 1 college basketball player, he played for Cal State Fullerton and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. He has always enjoyed recreational tennis and ping pong, two of the sports that contribute to the exciting and growing game of pickleball. Bill began playing pickleball when he signed up for Raudel Barba’s beginners class offered through the City of San Clemente in California. He has continued to play and expand his knowledge of the game, and improve his pickleball skills. He is now a pickleball “coach in training,” actively pursuing his coaching certification under the guidance of Coach Barba.
Bill says, “Exercise is important for all of us. Those of us who have gone through knee, hip or shoulder replacement surgeries need a sport that motivates us to get us off our couches, out of our homes, exercise and have fun. pickleball, particularly doubles, is a wonderful sport for everyone, and it can be the perfect sport for those of us over 50 years of age.”
Bill’s coaching focus will be to work with 50+ beginners, intermediate and advanced level players. He will help people develop their individual skills and doubles play strategies. And guide those who wish to go into teaching and coaching pickleball.
Bill’s motto on pickleball doubles play is “Have fun, fill holes and move together on the court.”
Bill has worked in the motion picture technical equipment business for many years as President of Theatre Service and Supply. As a business leader and entrepreneur, he led many large scale theatre construction and equipment projects for some of the world’s largest theatre chains including AMC and Century Theaters. He also coordinated installations in motion picture studios, labs and private screening rooms. Bill’s expertise includes strategic development and team leadership. He brings all the lessons he had learned working with people in business into the joy of teaching others to play pickleball.
